Yes indeed.
But, from that article, I get the feeling the writer, Mr. Carnevale, is being too aggressive in trying to tie all the loose ends together (cf "the mark of every disturbed position"). It would be enough to describe Sexton's life; he doesn't need to force it with explanation.
