Virginia's governor is making a few changes: "When Bob McDonnell ran for governor of Virginia, he insisted-emphatically at times-that he was no culture warrior…. In the four months since he was sworn in as governor, McDonnell has rescinded protections for gay and lesbian state employers, declared a 'Christian Heritage Week' (devoted to perpetuating the myth that the Founders created a distinctly 'Christian nation'), declared a 'Confederate History Month' (with no mention of slavery), and has now reinstated a policy giving free license to State Police chaplains to be sectarian." And there's plenty more!

This is why you vote. In every single election. Including and especially in the primaries.

Right, this clown was going to be the new face of the Republican party which says virtually everything you want to know about them.

Virginia Is For Losers.

In fairness, it's not a culture war. It's a jihad.

I think this begs for a "Listicle without Commentary"….Worst States Ever, edition.
Oklahoma was currently leading in my mind, but Virginia is make an impressive surge.

I went to college in VA and remember tourists (white ones) taking pictures of their kids standing on the slave auction block in the middle of town. They ALWAYS made the same jokes.

Perhaps a cotton field theme park is in order?

I hope I don't get arrested but I would literally punch Ken Cuccinelli in his face if I ever met him.

Memo to voters: Bob McConnell is tight with Pat Robertson, and THIS IS WHAT PEOPLE WHO ARE TIGHT WITH PAT ROBERTSON DO. They'll talk all day long about jobs if that's what it takes to get elected, but once they're in, it's all culture wars, all the time. It's what they do. It's all they know. As Robertson protege Ralph Reed of the Christian Coalition said in 1991, "I want to be invisible. I do guerrilla warfare. I paint my face and travel at night. You don't know it's over until you're in a body bag."
