Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY) "is single-handedly blocking an emergency extension of unemployment benefits – and checks to hundreds of thousands of people whose jobless pay ran out this week." That group includes 8000 New Yorkers, but who else is he hurting? Here's a handy map!

If we can't find $10 billion to pay for it, then we're not going to pay for anything.
I assume this means, Sen. Bunning, you'll not be taking your paycheck for representing your constituents.
Ha, especially when you realize that he's probably still collecting the very generous MLB pension...
"Under Senate rules, any member can object to moving forward on legislation.
That seems like it was a pretty dumb rule. Someone explain to me why that isn't a dumb rule.
I object to moving forward with telling Moff why that isn't a dumb rule.
It may have taken 300 Spartans (along with 3-5,000 extras) to stave off the Persians; but it only takes one asshole Republican to stave off the dangers of government overspending, apparently.
'single-handedly?' I didnt think that was possible. Seriously? dumb rule indeed.
Old Rich White Man.
Surprise, surprise.
Where does this threaddick creep live? Because I'll step up RIGHT NOW to send 100 busloads of unemployed people who just lost their benefits over to his house for a CHARITY supper, because that's what you do in a FREE SOCIETY UNFETTERED BY GOVERNMENT: you have your citizenry of means VOLUNTEER TO ASSIST THOSE IN NEED.
This guy Bunny seems like an eager little beaver to get started with that right now. Start shootin' possum out back for stew meat, Jimbo.
As Jesus often said, "Tough shit, you lousy layabouts." [Deuteronomy 28:14]
Ironically enough, a few verses back in 24:14-15, Deuteronomy says, "Never take advantage of poor laborers, whether fellow Israelites or foreigners living in your towns. Pay them their wages each day before sunset because they are poor and are counting on it. Otherwise they might cry out to the Lord against you, and it would be counted against you as sin."
I am screamingly upset about this.
"At one point, Bunning said "tough s-t" when criticized for holding up the funding."
Quite the class act.
"In April 2006, Time magazine called him one of America's Five Worst Senators. The magazine dubbed him The Underperformer for his "lackluster performance", saying he "shows little interest in policy unless it involves baseball", and criticized his hostility towards staff and fellow Senators and his "bizarre behavior" during his 2004 campaign."
Lovely.
I have heard scuttlebutt that Bunning is mentally unstable and that the Republicans have quietly nipped his re-election campaign in the bud and are waiting for him to go away. Turns out he won't go quietly....
