Briton Turns Tiny Plane Into Giant Knife

In case you were wondering, this is a gyrocopterYour Knifecrime Island knife crime story of the day involves enormous knives and fox hunting. It's never a good combination: "A pilot and animal rights campaigner who drove a gyrocopter at a member of a fox hunt, cleaving his head from top to bottom with its blades, was cleared of manslaughter today." The report notes that "The case highlighted the intense passions and entrenched views on both sides of the hunting debate," which, uh, yeah.

Twat is *so* much better said with the English flat "a" as in "pastor."

Wouldn't it have to be on its side to cleave the head "from top to bottom"? And wouldn't the entire be thusly cleaved, after which the blade would strike the ground and cause the copter's air bags to deploy? I just don't get the physics of this.

Ah, a simple explanation that lets the laws of physics stand. Thanks

Oh, great. NOW I suppose they're going to institute a three-day waiting period before we can buy our gyrocopters.

Random sentence alert!

"Minutes after the accident, Otis Ferry, a master of the Shropshire Hunt and son of the pop star Bryan Ferry, arrived at the airfield."

Wow. Before reading the linked story, I was thinking: "Now, how on Earth does he get cleared for manslaughter?". Now, I can only feel pity for his family that they must suffer losses due to this t**t's(I like the mystery of it) decision to just stand there and die, rather than not try to bully some poor old man that was just trying to ensure that they weren't breaking laws. He may have deserved it, but still, sucks a lot for the family. And now this other fellow has to live with knowing he's killed another human.
