"For years, we got the Christmas cards with the official family portrait — Roy Ashburn, his wife, kids and golden retriever, smiling for the camera. Political reporters tacked them up on their cubicle walls with the cards from other local politicians."
-The executive editor of the The Bakersfield Californian starts his explanation of why they couldn't cover the huge hypocritical gayness of CA State Sen Roy Ashburn with this "WHAT HUH? TACKED WHAT ON WHAT NOW?" moment.

You don't have to be gay to be in the closet, Bakersfield Californian.
Also: This excuse of "it's not relevant/anyone's business" has got to be killed and buried for good.
A public figure's homosexuality is and will forever be relevant as long as gays are relegated to second-class status in this country.
Si.
Someone ask that Golden Retriever why he's smiling.
Users of "Twitter" issued tweets accusing us of "collusion" with Ashburn.
Why h8 on the Twitter?
Ashburn needs to get on the whole #itwasntme trend.
Reading the opinion column at the link, the editor says, essentially, "sure, there were rumors that Ashburn was gay, but they were just that - rumors - and we don't report rumors." And to that, I respond, don't you investigate rumors, find factual evidence, and then report that? Isn't that was a newspaper is meant to do? Cheez.
I'm calling a meeting of the Council to revoke this man of his Gayness post haste.
The International Heterosexual He-Man Woman-haters Club endorses this.
Sounds like another reason that you shouldn't trust Old Media to decide what is news for you.
Oh holy shit--the second or first super long comment!! Please confirm that is sarcasm immediately.
To clarify--I followed the second link.
I am also concerned that an editor, even one in Bakersfield, does not know the difference between "consistent" and "hypocritical."
The difference? Simple. "Consistent" is three syllables and suitable for publication in Bakersfield. "Hypocritical" is five syllables and therefore suspect as an elitist, effete word in Bakersfield, so better not to even think about it.
While some bloggers and anonymous online commenters have ferociously attacked him for hypocrisy, he's been nothing if not consistent. He's taken a conservative stance for years, pre-dating his recent life as a single man.
Hahahaha. That's hilarious. No wonder this clown "journalist" is stuck in Bakersfield. Someone needs to sit down with him and explain the issue v e r y s l o w l y and with small words.
