The Talented Salinger Family
Amazing: I had no idea that the late J.D. Salinger's son Matt starred in the 1990 film version of Captain America! I don't know why I'm so delighted by that, but I am. Also, Ronny Cox, Ned Beatty and Darren McGavin? How did this thing disappear so quickly? (Don't answer that, I have a pretty good idea.) Anyway, blast from the past and all.

J.D. Salinger's son starred in The Greatest American Hero?? I can't believe it! Oh, no, wait, Captain Am. . . I guess I can't care.
Ooooh but I can! Because he was also on Picket Fences–with Zelda Rubinstein (RIP) and that horribly obnoxious prick Patti Stanger tried to fix up with a very sweet waitress from the Olive Garden last week.
Wait wait wait! Hold EVERYTHING! THIS was his first film: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088000/

I want someone to re-imagine Revenge of the Nerds with a whole new cast, and "nerds" who are pumped-up and look normal past glasses, bad haircuts and clothes and the tagline? "The nerds will have revenge…"
Oh man, this movie. I can still remember, vividly, that bastard of a movie poster in the theater, taunting me endlessly. (It was really designed well! Just The Shield on a stark black background. The perfect thing to get the children salivating and rip-off the Batman design at the same time!) Release dates that kept getting pushed back into oblivion. The dejection of realizing I would never see that mighty shield hurled 'cross the silver screen. Then I saw some bootleg VHS copy years later and, yeah, I had a pretty good idea.
Hulu has the whole movie up!
