It's a done deal: New York dealer and great annoyance (but also a marvel) Jeffrey Deitch will head up MOCA. This seems like such an odd choice-on Deitch's part! What's the commercial upside for him? There presumably is one, hence why this happened. Why is it better than the money-printing shop he currently owns?

Maybe he thinks that once Broad gets done fucking them completely he can buy it cheap, for parts?
Money printing shop: the gallery, or the Citibank thing? Both?
Also: my former roommate once gave Jeffrey Deitch a tour of street art and graffiti in Brooklyn, and apparently he is a very sweet and gracious man.
I've worked with him a few times and he's good to work with on complicated deals involving insane people.
I thought Jennifer Beals had this job in the bag!
Last one leaving Manhattan, please remember to flip Bloomberg the bird. Seriously, why are we still here again?
I'm very much looking forward to next year's Pharrell Williams retrospective.
Seriously. What's next, performance art projects by Lady Ga... oh.
Everyone get excited for Deitch Projects: The Museum!!!
(Ha, just kidding. I meant "Eli Broad's Art Collection: The Museum").
