Tove Jansson! The True Deceiver is a grown-up book, but all her Moomin books do winter so beautifully. Sibelius, too. The Finns got that winter thing figured out.
For those who've never read any of the Moomin tales, I recommend the story "The Fir Tree." Perfume genius Christopher Brosius based a scent on it.

Yeah.
Outdoorsy.
Very nice.
Also, if you happen to catch a shrew, it's amazing how slippery those little guys are. Like one of those water-tube toys.

OK, I thought that was who Tove Jansson was. I loved the Moomins when I was kid. I had no idea that she had written "grown up" books as well.
Moominland Midwinter!
Sibelius! The beginning of the violin concerto sounds like sleigh bells running across the snow in moonlight.
Gotta check out Jansson's adult books too. Must also check out the fir perfume...because I hate perfume.
YESSSSSSSS! I wish the 28 inches of snow outside my door made me happy like the above... alas.
This was really great. I wish all weather reports had this much depth to them. Fuckin Dallas Raines.
Wasn't that Nicolas Cage's character in 'Gone in 60 Seconds'?

Charlotte has Larry Sprinkle...carries an umbrella everywhere.
But this is just a nice breath of fresh crisp snowy air. LOVE IT!
You are awesome in several ways, or maybe just one BIG way, but either way, yeah.

Beautiful, Amy, and spot-on. Thanks.
