After The Funeral

I found this beautiful, moving, and ultimately uplifting. Hopefully you will too.

Yes. It reminds me of the Growing Pains where Mike realizes that Gilligan's Island will always be on everyday, whether he's there to watch it or not.

Thanks.

Anybody remember seeing Waking Ned Devine? While not exactly a cinematic masterpiece, it touches on this topic.

Ok true confession I love that movie.

And just like that, I'm crying again.

It's just really dry in my office, my eyes are over-moistening to compensate.

I'M NOT MADE OF STONE ALEX BALK!!!

I gave a little talk not dissimilar in tone at three funerals. At two of them my mother and father were right there next to the podium. It works, it helps, and boy oh boy does it hurt.

I was touched by that...but then again, I cried during "American Idol" last night.

This would be a lot more uplifting if I didn't have an appointment to meet with my mom's docs this afternoon to discuss how non-treatable "non-treatable" actually is.

[Sincerity alert] I like to believe she did see the cards, see the size of the funeral crowd, experience the atmosphere at the church. And that she does see life continue.

Because if I didn't, I'd have a hard time getting out of bed every morning.
