I gave a little talk not dissimilar in tone at three funerals. At two of them my mother and father were right there next to the podium. It works, it helps, and boy oh boy does it hurt.
This would be a lot more uplifting if I didn't have an appointment to meet with my mom's docs this afternoon to discuss how non-treatable "non-treatable" actually is.
[Sincerity alert] I like to believe she did see the cards, see the size of the funeral crowd, experience the atmosphere at the church. And that she does see life continue.
Because if I didn't, I'd have a hard time getting out of bed every morning.
