Good Riddance, Rudy

Here is an obituary for Rudy Giuliani's political career. Is it still possible that he might at some point in the future be considered a viable candidate for state or national office? Sure, I can envision a scenario. It looks a lot like The Road.

Damn, there go my dreams of a fascist state.

"Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do." - Rudy Giuliani, March 16, 1994

Gef the Talking Mongoose

I got to the bit in the article which reads : "He spoke at a moderately-attended news conference in a hotel basement ..." and my brain immediately flashed on those basement scenes from The Road, and the image of cannibals harvesting limbs from a still-living Guiliani seemed a fitting metaphor for the Republican party over the past eight years. And, in a non-metaphorical way, totally awesome.

When the Post makes its endless 'LAZY-O' puns, they'll still be referring to the Prez though.
