Amanda Knox Murder Trial Verdict: Fabulous

I mean, it just looks terrificUnlike so many others who have apparently followed every single moment of her trial and are deeply conversant with the intricacies of the Italian legal system, particularly as regards the admissibility and handling of DNA evidence, I don't have a very strong opinion on the verdict in the Amanda Knox murder case. However, I've had a MUCH MORE DISTURBING REACTION. Specifically, I'm oddly obsessed with that green coat she wore. I mean, it looks fantastic, am I right? Everything about it just works. That coat is fierce, and she totally pulls it off. WHY DO I FEEL SO STRONGLY ABOUT THIS? I'm very very troubled by the whole thing.

You are absolutely correct, in that I thought the same thing.

Really brings out her inner-guiltlessness.

The difference between this and a Mary HK Choi post on the same subject is that Balk is disturbed by his fashionista reflexes (guilt) where she would be all "Thank goodness this trial is happening in Italy where 'not guilty by reason of fierce' is a defense."

Balk doesn't let me write about Italy. Says it's his.

formerly it takes a lot etc.

Murderess-hot?

As long as the cold-sore is gone.

I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't functionally double-breasted, which I think could have lent itself better to metaphor, but I do agree that she looked radiant, and the collar added the right amount of drama.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEW. You're right. No button holes. What does it have just ONE GIANT HOOK AND EYE? WTF? GARBAGE. NEXT!

Lord knows I love to miss a joke...but I think I'm on to this tongue-in-cheek homage to la Choi!

Choire Sicha

Wow, why did Balk do that to you? So mean! I hate him.

That reminds me. I have a LOT of peanut butter cookies I'm trying to unload.

In fact, they kind of match her coat.

TerseNursePornstein

S'okay--it sealed his fate, right? MMMMMMMMMM.

*and piss-take on larger media coverage of trial. Yes, that's a chip on my shoulder.

CaptainFantastic

It's because the top buttons are pasties-like.

The bride wore white,
The murderess wore vert.

Nothing to do with her coat but I did love this NYT blog correction from yesterday: "An earlier version of this post misstated ...... when Ms. Knox had done cartwheels after being arrested."

CaptainFantastic

Standard-issue Italian prison garb?

Better to Eat You With

I have a coat like that. I'll be sure to wear it to my murder trial.

It's a subtle message: She's telling us that there WAS a motive after all ... envy.

Have you seen some of the crazy catlady websites on this case? Like Perugia Murder File or Anne Bernham's Friends of Amanda site? It's really baaaaddd. Everybody's an expert.

Do you remember when they used to troll and pounce on any Internet post related to this case, and take over the comment sections?
