I'm happy that New Museum thing is getting some legs because lets face it, it is pretty sleazy even by art standards. Poor Marcia Tucker… only dead three years and already Lisa Phillips is shitting on her legacy. Sad face.
The MFA in Boston had a show called "Things I Love," curated by a collector, William Koch (pronounced coke, but everyone called it the cock show), about 5 years ago. Long story short: there were lots of breasts, guns and indians, and two huge boats in front of the museum. Now, the MFA has a very different mission than the New Museum, but it still had this awful 'if I were a rich man's plaything, not-ironic' thing going on.
Wait, *that's* where my membership dollars are going? Erghh.
