I had a boss who used to routinely tell me, "You pal around too much with people on this job. They're not your friends. I'm your friend."
Well, he was a schmuck--and not very friendly, either, for a friend--but unfortunately, there was a grain of truth in that lump of coal.
Am I as naive as these kids, or is holding a beer not proof of drinking a beer (forgetting the fact that there's no proof it's not just a photo of someone who looks a lot like you)?
But hi, kids? No one may ever have told you this a million bajillion times, but maybe avoid pictures that can get you in trouble, and the publishing of them.
Also, don't sign any petitions that may embarrass you 20 years from now.
I know, right? All my friends in high school used to take pictures of each other taking bong rips and shit and I would always decline to have my picture taking, and they would be all like 'what, dude!?'.
I recall more than one parent finding those pictures.
Needless to say, I was always the favorite friend of all their parents.

Apparently one of the Deans at my alma mater was doing this, too, back in the day when facebook was only for .edu elitists and pretty much anyone could see your profile so long as they were in your educational network. I was long gone by then, but am pretty thankful that the deans did not have the authority to rifle through all the photos developed at the campus bookstore in the early naughts.
