"Once source who has seen Going Rogue says it does not include an index. That would give Palin a subtle revenge on the party's Washington establishment, whose members tend to flip to the back pages and scan for their own names. If they want to know what Sarah Palin has to say about them, they will have to buy the book-and read the whole thing."

Should I look for it in the Fiction, Humor or Picture Book section of Barnes and Noble?
Hmm. Could it be there's no index not as some wily, crafty way to get back at the establishment, but rather because she's too damn stupid to know what an index is? Just sayin'…
Also: I am a technical writer, and the idea of having to index a book of that nature makes me want to bleed out my ears.
I think they're basically acknowledging that the book won't stand up to the sort of analysis that would even require the use of an index.
Plus saving a lot of time, fact-checking and money.
How about someone: buy book, scan to OCR preserving original pagination, compile index using Word/InDesign/whatever, post index online, return book to bookstore for refund.
Anyone interested in what Sarah Palin has to say about him or her deserves to sit through the whole damn book.
I doubt any of them will be reading it. What do they have assistants and interns for?
Exactly my thought: "I want red post-it notes on every page mentioning the Senator. Orange ones for his wife, and blue ones for his kids. He needs it in his hand before he leaves for his tee time. Mmmkay?"
Maybe her book doesn't include any proper nouns?
One bloated blind item!
Quick, unemployed journos (is that redundant) – this is a surefire six figure page view post proposal in the making. Note, I got paid to index a book in 1992 and probably got more than you will. I got $300.
ooo burn!
