Sports Team's Massive Financial Advantage Finally Pays Off

Congratulations to the New York Yankees, who have proved once again to the whole world that if you spend massive amounts of money on the best available players and manage to string together enough wins during three short series, you will, at least once or twice in a decade, eventually take home a title. The Yankees may be essentially Bloombergian in spirit, but I believe we have President Obama to thank for this latest development. Now that a Democrat is in charge, the coastal elites are back to showing the rest of the country who's the boss. To wit: the last time the Yankees won a World Series under a Republican president it was during Eisenhower administration(!). Coincidence? I think not.
Yeah, but most modern Democrats are essentially Eisenhower era Republicans, so…
The Yankees never won a World Series while Don Mattingly wore the uniform either…as a player or a coach. Which is kinda sad.
so sad. I love me some Donnie Baseball
He can't have been all that good then, can he?
Dan Marino finds your logic… worrisome.
So does Karl Malone.
So does Richard Burton.
Congratulations on your novel viewpoint!
9 years, $2 billion dollars in payroll. Aren't they just the little team that could?
My token response to all my yankees fans: "You're right and you're the best. You're right and you're the best. You're right and you're the best," until they get bored and walk away.
I heard on NPR this morning that the Yankee GM said, "We won the World Series. All is right with the world again." I'd been feeling that things were off for the past 9 years, I just didn't know exactly why.
i can't decide which millionaires to cheer for these days. ..
