Would you like a very special copy of Sarah Palin's Going Rogue that has been signed by National Book Award winner Colum McCann, hunky soap star James Franco, literary It Girl Sloane Crosley, and a host of considerably lesser lights? Of course you would. Bid now, because all the proceeds go to charity and this book can only gain in value. Think of the children, etc.

Um. Explain, please.
And now I like her even more. Thanks a lot
We do what we can. FOR THE CHILDREN.
Eggers refusing to sign it actually makes me like him more too and I didn't think that was possible.

(come on, TREND, dammit)
Oh, those "trend" in the old way.
Good point. And by my calculations they're due back any day now!
Shouldn't it be in crayon?
This does rather smack of elitism. Smug elitism at that.
It did just occur to me today (meaning it probably occurred to everybody eltse a couple weeks ago) that a lot of people who buy Going Rogue are indeed going to be buying the book ironically - to display beside their anime figurines and the stuffed arctic hare - or as a gag gift for somebody.
