Did you know that if health care reform passes it will end democracy as we know it? That's what Utah Republican Senator Orrin Hatch warns, noting that the Democrats want socialized medicine and "if they get there, of course, you're going to have a very rough time having a two-party system in this country, because almost everybody's going to say, 'All we ever were, all we ever are, all we ever hope to be depends on the Democratic Party.'" Right. So let's not do that then.

Somehow I feel like you Republicans are making your own contributions to ending two-party democracy in this country, Orrin...
You lie!!1!
I was having a discussion yesterday driving back from Massachusetts.
I've often expressed exasperation at this political and social climate of this country. But in all honesty, this shit feels like the last days of Rome.
I can see very little light at the end of a long dark tunnel.
*rides nuclear warhead like a mechanical bull.
Really? I'm a bit more optimistic than that. To me it's beginning to look like the triumphant climax of 'Revenge of the Nerds.'
Moreover, I advise that Carthage must be destroyed.
Salve, Cato the Elder!
Am I the only person who happened to watch You're Not Elected Charlie Brown last week? It was made in 1972. There is not a single sentence or image of the whole show that is currently out of place.
Here is what will happen: we will get some kind of healthcare plan. Lots of people will complain about it. Later, Republicans will gain a majority. Then they'll do things lots of people complain about. After that the Democrats will gain a majority. Repeat until we all die.
Someone should write a thesis (or at least a decent article) about how long people have been saying we're funged (thanks, Baboleen!) and our democracy is about ready to go up in flames. I'm guessing about...223 years. Maybe even 224.
We can look at it two ways. Either this is the very difficult period before something amazing is about to happen (which many times is the case) or we're funged.
Yes.
I'm for any plan that involves prescribing me as many drugs as possible to forget about all this.
it makes more sense if you include the first half of Hatch's quote: "Democrats. Wrote a song about it. Like to hear it? Here it go:"
