45% Of Doctors Will Not Quit Practicing If Health Care Reform Happens

You may hear about a poll showing that 45% of doctors would consider quitting if health care reform is passed. Don't believe it. (It is important to mention that the poll comes from Investors Business Daily, the geniuses who brought you "If Stephen Hawking lived in England the death panels would have killed him by now.") Demolishing the results, Your Geeky Boyfriend Nate Silver notes: "There are pollsters out there that have an agenda but are highly competent, and there are pollsters that are nonpartisan but not particularly skilled. Rarely, however, do you find the whole package: that special pollster which is both biased and inept. IBD/TIPP is one of the few exceptions."

The title led me to believe that only 45% of doctors were comitted to staying on if health care is reformed. Glad that impression was untrue, because I was sure that at least half of them would stick with it.

Yes, all those years of med school have prepared them for the exciting, lucrative jobs that are just falling off the vine nowadays.

100% of MDs consider quitting every day, so this poll is pretty hilar.

NPR listed a story where 75% of doctors support a Public Option. They have delt with Medicare and Medicaid, so they have no issues with this. And would prefer it.
