Subscription Cards Aren't Going Anywhere

by Balk posted @2:10 PM

http://www.cartoonbank.com/item/27986Forget what you've heard: Blow-in cards, those annoying bits of paper which fall out of your magazines and slice you up but good when you finally get around to cleaning them off the floor, are in no danger of disappearing, says AdAge. "When you've got the magazine right there in your hands, you can fill out a card to keep it coming to your mailbox," the subscription director of Bonnier tells Nat Ives. "The internet is great, but it doesn't duplicate that and it doesn't replicate that. Insert cards are a very large and very profitable part of our business and will be for years — and years and years — to come."

"Besides, where would people jot down phone numbers from 411 when they're too cheap to pay the text-this-to-me fee?"

    Two uses:

    1. cutting coke.
    2. cleaning my teeth.

Do NOT take all that away from me.

He hasn't gotten the news yet that there will be no magazines to put them in?

When I worked in the bookstore biz we called those cards "maggots." As in, "Get off your ass, you dirty hipster, and clean all those maggots off the floor. Lazy freakin' hipsters. I should have hired that nice Christian girl from Chik fil A."
