Sam Sifton the New 'NYT' Restaurant Critic

A PICTURE OF SAM SIFTONHoly moley. Times culture editor Sam Sifton is the new restaurant critic of the New York Times. Sifton, by the way, turned down the job last time around. Guess working with crazed TV critic Alessandra Stanley finally broke him! He'll have to grow his hair, as a disguise... um, if he can.

He doesn't look sufficiently gluttonous.

He is! Though I hope he's ready for the onslaught. He hasn't always enjoyed criticism. (Well who does.) But he is going to be getting a lot of attention and I think he will find it shocking.

Unless he does not utilize the Internet, in which case, no problem!

Food Critics are glorified Assayers.

Well somebody had to say it.

I was rooting for Brett Anderson at the Times-Picayune, but this is much much better!
