This JC Penney – New York Times – Cintra Wilson thing is turning friend against friend! And also, from the comments: "Next time I'm in New York I'm going to walk into Prada on a Saturday afternoon (with about 3 Bloody Marys on an empty stomach) and loudly ask where their Plus Sizes are. Then I'm going to throw up and leave." Oh and there is an essay down in there too!

Not nearly as funny as the catfight on the Today show this morning between plus size model Emme and the emaciated editor of "Self". They were duking it out over the extreme airbrushing of Kelly Clarksons cover. Hysterics ensued.
What's this about turning friend against friend? Ms. Wilson had a point about crappy corporate clothes. What was irritating was that she could have said the same thing about Urban Outfitters or any other one of a number of chains. FULL DISCLOSURE: Since I live overseas and clothing is a lot more expensive here, I do most of my shopping when I'm at home in NY. And yeah, I shop at Penney's, K-Mart and Target. Sometimes just for affordable underwear or gym clothes and sometimes I get really nice stuff. Oh, and to make things worse, I'm a size 16. Have I abdicated my right to exist yet? Cintra honey, those of us who were born in New York will always consider you an overcompensating hick. But defend to the death your right to be one.
My sister who lives on Maui does the same thing when she comes to the mainland. Everything there is really expensive.
