'Harvey' Remake Tops List Of Utterly Unnecessary Films

There’s not much of a point in getting upset about remakes of classic movies; you might as well accept that it’s going to happen and remind yourself that whatever new spin is put on a treasured favorite, it doesn’t in any way diminish the original. Variety suggests Tom Hanks and Will Smith are being approached to fill Jimmy Stewart’s shoes-and really, could it be anyone other than Hanks? Viggo Mortensen, perhaps-but whoever winds up doing it, there’s no way they’ll come anywhere near Stewart’s indelible performance. And on that, you may quote me.
