I will say this for Dick Cheney: His ability to deride Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to investigate torture as "an act of politics" with a straight face is rather impressive. Cheney does not accept that Holder is acting independently, which makes sense since it is probably inconceivable to Cheney that any Attorney General might act independently.

I will say this for Balk: that he can with a straight face call that contorted grimace of Cheney's a "straight face" is very funny indeed.
So much of the conflict with the GOP in general is about what they do imagine and what they can't.
how on earth did Mike Wallace produce such a mealy mouthy pussy of a journalist as his son Chris Wallace most manifestly has become?
Your a journalist. You have the former vice president sitting in front of you. Cameras are rolling. Do you ask him if he is protesting because he fears the loss of his own reputation, speakers fees and, perhaps, his own personal liberty? No. Do you ask him about the assassin squad he set up? No. Do you play the "dark side" quote and ask him if he regrets anything that he did? No. Do you ask him any questions other than those calculated to increase sales of his wretched, slimey memoir? No, of course not. Jesus H. Christ, man! Grow a pair!
