"The activities of the CIA in carrying out the policies of the Bush Administration were directly responsible for defeating all efforts by al Qaeda to launch further mass casualty attacks against the United States. ... President Obama's decision to allow the Justice Department to investigate and possibly prosecute CIA personnel, and his decision to remove authority for interrogation from the CIA to the White House, serves as a reminder, if any were needed, of why so many Americans have doubts about this Administration's ability to be responsible for our nation's security."
-Former Vice President Dick Cheney, responding to the news that the administration might ask a couple of questions about all that torture stuff, once again displays the equanimity and fairness that have been his hallmark since left public service.

Sometimes, when I'm really bored, I try to imagine what circle of hell Cheney will be visiting.
I'm torn between Circle 8, where fraudulent politicians are sent to spend eternity in boiling tar....
or Circle number 9, where those who commit treason against their country are immersed up to their necks in ice.
Or the newest circle, number 10...locked in a room with Palin where she never shuts up and she never stops winking.
Can we get those death panels up and running now please?
I have basically run out of ways to suggest that I wouldn't be upset if he kindly walked into traffic.
So he's saying there were further al Queda efforts to blow us up, etc. Proof, please.
I think its hard for Cheney to convince people that something that didn't happen would have happened if it wasn't for their policy.
I don't recall Cheney often hiding behind the "most Americans" construction -- add "fraidy cat" to the list of bad things to call him.
