And That's When I Clicked "Close Tab": Arguments In Favor Of The Ivy League Edition

by Balk posted @9:07 AM

Seriously, if you enjoy 'Family Guy' they should tie your nuts to the back of a tractor-trailer and drag you all the way down 7th Avenue"A kind of middlebrow 'Simpsons' written by public university grads rather than the Harvard elite, 'The Family Guy' prides itself on pushing the envelope of good taste whenever possible."

See also: pushing the envelope of good writing, animation, reason to exist, etc.

This show has always been a bit too low-brow and vulgar for my taste too, but I LOLd at the "low point": “Maybe she should have thought about that before she asked me for directions.”
(Don't want The Awl to get censored so I'll leave off the question that that's the answer to)

Shouldn't you pansy bitches be deliberating what type of tea to brew this morning instead of lowering yourselves to discuss the only episodic television that I even watch anymore?

"Oh, the Mount Ah Li Fruit-Baked Oolong is so high in anti-oxidants, it makes me feel fluid, like a milkweed tussock caterpillar. So very perfect for a Friday, but alas! Scone? Or biscotti? Meow meow meooow meow, King Faraday!"

Your taste is impeccable, Alex Balk. (Family Guy fans: look it up!)

Sorry, was closing the tab because we disagreed with the article or because Family Guy is not super-funny and doesn't deserve coverage?

    Uh oh, where's 99?

(Still no sign of the deaf team…)

Yeah, RISD is the crucible of lower-middle class achievement. And also it's a public school. Just like the Kent school.

Bizarre university-based classism is lame, but the Family Guy is still a shitty show.

So he’s trying to package the idea “Family Guy is not as smart as Simpsons” inside a classist insult. The problem with classism, like racism, is that you can’t press it into the service of your joke without making an ass of yourself.

Isn't the 'Poverty of Seth MacFarlane's Comedy' Octomom's beat over at Radar Online?
