The Cambridge Police Department has released audio of the 911 call that lead to Henry Louis Gates' arrest and portions of the conversation between the investigating officer and dispatch. What do we learn? Well, according to one commenter at the Boston Globe, "These tapes are his Achilles heel, it is a great day and will show that people such as him, Jackson, and Sharpton are more and more wrong every day." The rest of you may be a little less certain. (Meanwhile, in case you missed it, please read this Stanley Fish piece from Friday. The last two paragraphs are pretty great.)

I can't believe this story has another week in it. Now the cable news gasbags won't have to talk about health care reform, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, renewable energy, credit card and financial regulation, or anything else of substance for a while.
Last Thursday, both Brian Williams and Charlie Gibson led with Obama's comments on Gates' arrest, while Jim Lehrer thankfully slotted it behind long segments on Clinton's Asia trip the health care wrangling in the Senate.
We must figure out how to make Jim Lehrer live forever.
I am sick and tired of this human profiling!
Gates Tapes Released (VIDEO)
“We hope by obtaining more information about the arrest, the public will have a more informed opinion on the controversy,†said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch
Can we start calling it 'Gatesgate' yet?
"I don't know if they WORK there..."
Agh.
