WHY GOD WHY?!

One by one, God is knocking off Mark Sanford's favorite entertainers. For The love of Earth, Mr. Governor, Please resign.

Going up… (I hope!)

sakade (#52)

And Wendy Richard just died in February…WATCH OUT CAPTAIN PEACOCK YOU COULD BE NEXT!

Joy (#1,016)

What is her pussy going to do without her?!?

katiebakes (#32)

Some 97 year old dude from the "don't leave home without it" commercials died today too. I dunno. My boss is kinda bummed.

katiebakes (#32)

Oh. I just scrolled down.

Oh noes! Better get another obit on deck, Choire… for my grassroots campaign to get Bakes a column here!

Reruns, Nefler. Reruns!!!

katiebakes (#32)

You mean reruns like when I miss an episode of NYC Prep but my magic machine lets me watch it later whenever I want by pressing "LIST" on the remote? I like reruns!

Big deal, I have a microwave too. Now pull over from the fast lane and program your hand-clock, young lady!

So brutal, that Bakes.

chrissth (#250)

I don't know who this woman is (but I LOVE her hair).

Nor do I know how to add a picture to my theawl.com identity. Someone help, please.

lols. gravatar.com!

chrissth (#250)

Well would you look at that.
Thx!

You did very well, Mrs. Slocombe.

Vulpes (#946)

I'm WAY more upset about this than friggin' Michael Jackson. May her and her pussy rest in peace.

IBentMyWookie (#133)

AOL is playing hardball.

Tuna Surprise (#573)

Leonard Cohen is next.

KarenUhOh (#19)

I am very fearful for William Shatner.

KarenUhOh (#19)

Why aren't you angry at Fred Travelena? He could've died for ALL these people.

FeyBoohoozer (#410)

So sad. Please make it stop!

As a Brit I find if funny all the Americans mourning her death and claiming Are You Being Served? as "classic British humour". You do realize that by the time this was shown in the States in the 80s that kind of humour (and Benny Hill) was considered a national embarrassment back home? It's the sort of thing the Monty Python "nudge nudge" sketch was taking the piss out of.

Now it's sort of come full circle and we find it funny again.
