There's not a lot new in the Henry Louis Gates arrest story just yet, but seeing his mug shot in this video here is absolutely astounding. And enraging.

On the other hand, it's the most distinguished-looking mug shot I have ever seen. It should be a postage stamp.

What am I missing here? Because the only possible racial profiler in the story appears to be the lady who called the police. Was Gates drunk? He could have just said, 'I can see how somebody who saw two men messing with my front door late at night might mistake the situation for a break-in--especially since I recently experienced a break-in (which is why I was having trouble with my front door). Really, though, it's my house and everything's OK. Thanks for your concern. Good night.'
