First Look: Ryan Reynolds As Green Lantern
An excited fan, thrilled by the news that actor Ryan Reynolds will play superhero Green Lantern in an upcoming live-action film, sent the folks at /Film his handmade version of how Reynolds might appear in costume. (Click that link to see it in its full-sized glory.) Normally, this is the kind of thing we'd mock, but I'm moved by the exuberance and creativity. In fact, I'm a bit of a Green Lantern fan myself. Here's my version of what Reynolds will look like. This is a more domestic scene, where the Lantern spends some time with his dog Astro.
Man, I cannot WAIT for this movie.

(Also? I know next to nothing about Reynolds other than gays liking him. Some gay who has touched my penis in the last week was very angry about this choice as Reynolds is to (something, I don't remember) and Hal Jordan is more "fearless" and "man's man".)
(Also also? I bought my first Green Lantern comic book in 1979 or so. Guy Gardener had just died, and GL hooked up with his girlfriend, Kari Limbo, so it's not a lack of GL knowledge preventing my understanding here.)

Then you must be aware of the issue when GL saves Teh Gays! Once this became common knowledge among my high school friends, I was mocked for liking GL.
Actually, that was Kyle Rayner, who was Green Lantern when Hal Jordan was possessed by Parallax. The issus were written by Judd Winnick, who also wrote Pedro & Me and of Real World – Tulsa (or somewhere) fame.
NOW I know why I always read x-men and Spiderman as a kid. We always kind of wondered "WTF. Who actually reads GL?"
