America Is One Vast Empty Storefront


Things are tough in Florida, and they're not much better out in San Diego County. Soon we will all be living in these places. If we survive the swine flu. [Via]

"There is nothing that price wont fix"...I have expressed the exact same sentiment to the delicious young man who does my landscaping. He smiles awkwardly and in his broken english asks me to untie him.

Just returned from Sacto and the scene is similarly empty and eerie, Stockton is even worse. On the bright side, those empty parking lots are handy for beginner drivers and cyclists, and for testing rocket skates.

As one born in SD, I would say things have never been good there since the suburban sprawl started. Busier, maybe, but not better.
