I always assumed that beat was more the result of his bosses sedating him with fatty haute cuisine--as he became increasingly bitter about being passed over. But maybe you're right, he was turning the danger slut thing inward, on his arteries.

This piece is right on. When I saw his pic on the homepage touting him as the go to man for this blow up, my gut reflexively said, "Nope, sorry, can't segue from chummy public face guy to Guy Hamilton." On principle, I didn't read the copy.
