THIS IS WHY THAT G-DAMN M*THERF*CKING PIECE OF SH8T NEWSPOOPER IS GOING DOWN THE TUBES. A story like that exists not to inform a significant readership that may have any sort of purposeful relationship to it -- but rather to feed a tiny group who get hardons for being noted in pages of the paper. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. More GRRRRRRRR. I want my paper back...and if I cant then may it go down in flames.
Except that . . . it's not really about anyone with a trustfund? There's vague and passing reference made to kids who occasionally have to ask their parents for help when they can't make rent and then a construction worker who was maybe going to buy a condo with his auto industry dad (which just sounds like middleclass Tulipmania housing bubble dumbness). In Michelle's case, the article makes it sound not like she was cut off by her parents because of the zomgrecession, but because she was sick of people making fun of her for not earning her own money. I'm sure I hate all these people anyway, but that headline was some bullshit.
It's worth reading for the schadenfreude, and for the dress Misha Calvert is wearing in the photo (basically, more schadenfreude).
This article seemed like it was almost tailor-made to be savaged by blogs. Good on you for taking the high road. (Though obviously, I read it.)
This is what happens when no one responds to Jennifer * Lee's Harvard alum LISTSERV appeals.

Agree. My Schadenfreude has now curdled.
Please don't let good schadenfreude go bad.
