So Apparently It Was Michiko's Turn To Write Maureen's Column Today
My God! New York Times book critic Michiko Kakutani was apparently just too lazy to not use her favorite word — "limn" — today, while she was obviously pitching in to write her share of the column that appears in the New York Times under Maureen Dowd's name. GET IT TOGETHER, DOWD-BORG.
Did she use the word "twee"?
I'm getting really tired of that word.
Not sure she Dowd really thought out the implications of referring to the Obamas' date night as a "Pretty Woman" romance.
I'm voting for term limnits.
Stop and think about this sentence and the mind from which it sprung:
"The trellis of hideous problems is a challenge that lures him to be powerfully concentrated."
I prefer my challenges potted.
Maybe she has one of those weird little potted orange trees and uses the fruit for juice while contemplating of the President?
As for "lures," I got nothing.
Here is a money making idea for the Times! They set up a "word" auction where you can bid to have all Times writers use any given word on a given day. Like: I could bid to have "jock itch" on July 22, 2009 –and then read the paper on the 22nd to make sure that Krugman and Carr use it that day. That's interactive!
