Slate today takes the Black Eyed Peas to task for "selling out" with their new Target ad (above). Whether the concept of "selling out" still holds currency, one thing is definitely clear: Slate hates the Black Eyed Peas. Just like Perez!
I'm blaming this post on Cho and his SEO tricks.
I'm with Slate here. I've never for one minute understood who is supposed to identify with this group or why.
But does it come with a hologram? Huh? Only at Walmart.
There was a point last fall when I was wondering who died and appointed Will.I.Am the cultural ambassador of the politically-inclined Youth to the mainstream televisual sphere, and then he appeared via hologram on CNN on election night and I died all over again. Can we retire the whole band-of-many-colors to a nice farm in the country yet? So that Fergie can pee on herself in peace?
I like the peas but they've been bought and paid for long ago.
Not to worry, the Black Eyes Peas are only an algorithm.
They also did that Best Buy ad like two years ago, so this is nothing new. I'm anxiously awaiting their upcoming Bed, Bath, & Beyond campaign.
I'm waiting for the McDonald's ad extolling the virtues of the latest breakfast sandwich myself.
Dude, the Black Eyed Peas IPO was like 5 years ago they've been publicly traded for a long time.
I wish they'd make a Femident Toothpaste for men.
