Miller Drops Ads After Threats From Scary Ethnic Types

Via AdFreak: Miller has pulled a series of spots starring Frank Vincent of "Sopranos" fame after Italian-American pressure groups complained that it perpetuates stereotypes everyone knows are kind of true. I'm not interested in rehashing the complex debate about humor and ethnicity, but I will say that this kind of activism isn't doing any favors for Italian-Americans like Frank Vincent. I mean, what's he gonna do, Lear? Poor guy's gonna wind up playing the only other kind of Italian-American we see in popular culture: gorilla-chasing plumber.

Not to worry - with the right mustache and a big enough sombrero, Vincent could easily pull off a Mexican bandido.

What does Dennis Farina have to say about this?
