Old, sure, but they didn't teach grammar when you were in school, either. Not saying yr grammar's bad -- hey, my ignorant ass wouldn't know! -- just that it hasn't been taught since 1910 or thereabouts.

Well, it's MORE important if you're a former high-ranking elected official or someone with a lot of influence within a major political party. If you're a youngish, college educated person, it's a little like voting Democrat in NYC.
