Funny Animal Videos Make Everybody's Wednesday Better

Here is a video of a San Francisco blackbird that relentlessly attacks passersby. There is something eerily hypnotic about it, although that may just be because of the lack of sound.

Every time I see something like this I'm amazed; I cannot imagine the stones it takes to attack something 100 times larger than yourself.

Must be the effects of a junk food diet. I can see his lawyer cooking up a twinkie defense.

It's a magpie, goddammit.

Here, here.

Also, where's my goddamed leather working seminar?

I don't think that's a magpie. Magpies are noticeably black and white, especially on the wings. It looks more like a crow to me. Although, I'm no ornithologist either.

I think we can rule out the flypecker* too. He isn't dive bombing men's crotches.

What song or sound would you use underneath this?

They should just be glad it's not a kingbird. Those things have cojones.

So are you saying black birds are more violent than white birds? Why you got to be like that, Awl?

It's no less strangely hypnotic in person. Also,a strange sharp dig on the scalp is a great "wake me up" on one's way to get the first cup of coffee in the morning.

Hell, I just moved east from San Francisco. I'm telling you, I love that city but there were some times during the time that I was there that I wanted to poke some people in the head too.

Go bird, go!
