Bush Indirectly Attacks Obama, Supporters Thankful

"It sure is wet down there."Speaking in Erie, PA, last night, former President George W. Bush delivered several critical remarks about his successor's policies while taking great pains to not mention Barack Obama's name directly. Outside the convention center where the speech occurred, Bush fans held up signs that might indicate how difficult it is to find something in the former president's legacy for which to offer full support: the placards read "Welcome President Bush" and "Thank you for defending the babies." Presumably this refers to the "babies" that were in female uteri and not the actual babies on the ground in New Orleans during Katrina. ZING!

Nothing against Erie (or Eire), but I'd say that Bush is having trouble booking the big rooms.

What the hell was he supposed to say? He's already used "You're doing a heckuva job, Brownie!"

Colonel Mustard

I think by "thank you for defending the babies" they meant Alberto Gonzalez and Harriet Miers.
