(I’d like to know what age group they’re talking about; booster seats require no installation per se and work well for older kids.) Of course some joy has been taken out of riding in cars. But! I draw your attention to the Mini Convertible. It has weird LATCH-anchor locations, but if you’re a kid in a correctly-installed car seat, you are completely safe and you’re riding higher than the driver with a perfect view in all directions. It’s actually the best seat in the house.
