New Beaty Stabby Bob Dylan Video Aims For Controversy

dylan_video
In the space in the bizarre Venn diagram where old people, music bloggers, and publicists connect, you'll find that everyone is up in arms about this bizarre new Bob Dylan video, which, quite frankly, I do not get. Metaphor? Allegory? True Romance homage? Whatever. In any event, it's a definite step up from, say, previous efforts.

Whatever it is, it's made by artist types who, certainly having no real experience with domestic violence, find it a great platform for some kind of Levi's commercial-like blue-collar "sexiness." Fail.

This is the logical conclusion to an argument over the relative merits of Blonde On Blonde and Blood On The Tracks.

It was riveting, except for the last 5 seconds.

Well, uh, it's called "Beyond Here Lies Nothing" and the video is about two people who hate each other, almost literally to death, and yet they just can't leave each other. Because of their terribly empty lives, one would guess. Makes more or less perfect sense to me. And it was more suspenseful than wondering if that hot guy in the club will ever dance with Rhianna (O! I hope he does!).

My Number Is My Address

Aw, that's cute, she's Jesus and he's Barack Obama and they're in love. The End.
