Germany Says No To Couple With Plans For Ridiculous Name

"Germany's highest court has upheld a law which makes it illegal for anyone to use more than two last names," reports the BBC. The law was challenged by a married couple who had some long-ass German names and wanted to combine them. The court responded with a firm "Nein," upsetting plaintiff Hans-Peter Kunz-Hallstein, who said the ruling was "EnttäuschunggroßerMengen," or "sad."

Arbitrary German laws are great. The truly sad thing is that we may never again hear the name Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern Schplenden Schlitter Crass Cren Bon Fried Digger Dingle Dangle Dongle Dungle Burstein von Knacker Trasher Apple Banger Horowitz Ticolensic Grander Knotty Spelltinkle Grandlich Grumblemeyer Spelter Wasser Kürstlich Himble Eisenbahnwagen Gutenabend Bitte einen Nürnburger Bratwürstel Gespurten mit Zweimache Luber Hundsfut Gumberaber Schönendanker Kalbsfleisch Mittelraucher von Hauptkopft again.
