"Media Elite" Has An Average Age of 55

I'M YOUNG! I'M DAVID GREGORY!An exciting new survey of 43 "media elites," and yes, they actually used that phrase, found that 65% of them thought that the internet had "hurt journalism." The average age of these "media elites," we found after doing some math, is 55.55. Not to be ageist, but: do they actually know what the Internet is?

We had to estimate a few ages based on college graduation years, and one or two we had to estimate wildly, based on age of spouse or first job. Still, in a sample size of 43, that shouldn't change the average age by more than a few months.

The youngest is the fellow they chummily call "Frank" Foer, born in 1974. The next youngest is Markos Moulitsas, at 37. Peter Beinart and David Gregory are 38 (those are both hard to believe!). Tucker Carlson is 39, as is Joshua Micah Marshall. Then there's Dana Milbank, at 41. Glenn Greenwald, 42.

The rest of them would be, at many work places, beyond mandatory retirement age.
