The New York Press went out and asked young people how much money they are making in New York City! Their answers may not surprise you.

It's amazing how some of these people are actually able to get by with what they're making. $12K?
In a world where journalism wasn't dead they'd ask the follow-up: "What are your parents contributing to your living here?"
Luckily, some of us have the good sense to predict layoffs and save the money we made the previous year!
Yeah pretty much I was thinking, "Um, which one of the 30 people in this spread are going to be okay?"
At least people age out of semi-poverty at um, 33. Actually, I think the ageless-types that I mistakenly asked for the article, might have been poorer than their younger counterparts.
This kind of money--well, a few exceptions in the article, of course--you'd be hard-pressed to live on in Terre Haute.
My heart goes out to the underemployed and underpaid. It is a tough world under the best of circumstances.
