GM To Be Handily Rewarded For Destroying Economy

GM is going to lay off 21,000 people. I mean, they are saying that is how many they will lay off, so it is a start, because earlier they said they were only cutting 14,000, and now suddenly it is 21,000. Question! Why would any sane government loan and/or give billions of dollars to a company that is destroying the infrastructure of our country, which is to say, the state of people being homeful and employed and able to shop at the D & W Fresh Market? What failed company is worth saving if it is taking society down with it?

Yeah and with this thriving snark-manufacturing base we have, I say "let it fail." And just in case that's not enough, we can always make the world's poetry too.

Has anyone studied how much of our GDP is Snark?

But what's the poetry industry worth? I thought it a was a negative value - you have to pay the "buyer".

Ha! I read that, too!
We might have a problem...
Then again, maybe it's the rest of the world that has the problem.

F*ck the AWU. I hate the communists and no I'm not being ironic. I really do hate the unions. They got us into this mess.

It reminds me of a Simpsons quote:

A worker in 1909: You can't treat the working man this way. One day, we'll form a union and get the fair and equitable treatment we deserve! Then we'll go too far, and get corrupt and shiftless, and the Japanese will eat us alive!

why does gm feel the need to produce layoff numbers in multiples of 7? ocd? more plausible than multiples of 5?
